Over 71% of Oil and Nearly 59% of Natural Gas Output Shut In Across the U.S. Gulf of Mexico

According to the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, roughly 71.51% of oil production and 58.84% of natural gas production in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico has been suspended.

On the staffing front, 129 of the 371 manned production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico have been evacuated, accounting for 34.77% of the total.

As for drilling rigs, to avoid the storm, 2 of the 17 dynamically positioned drilling rigs have taken precautionary measures and moved away from their original operating locations.

In addition, of the 11 non-dynamically positioned drilling rigs currently operating in the Gulf of Mexico, 8 have been evacuated, representing 72.73%.
