ST Engineering Revs Up Securitisation Plans; Does Not Rule Out Eventual Spin-Off Listing

Even as ST Engineering steadily expands its commercial aerospace business over the years, CEO Vincent Chong maintains that its defence and public security business has always been its core — its raison d’être.

The heightened geopolitical uncertainty is putting the defence and public security business on the centre stage, but Chong has plans to propel the commercial aerospace segment further in new ways.

As a leading maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) company, ST Engineering plays a key role in servicing many popular aircraft models, such as the Airbus A330, A321 and A320. Besides expanding hangar capacity, ST Engineering sees the securitisation of related aircraft, engines, and other critical parts as part of the “next bound” of growth for the commercial aerospace segment.
