Qingyang City has officially commenced its comprehensive oil and gas production capacity construction plan for the year 2026. As a key national base for modern integrated energy production and the core production area of the Changqing Oilfield, Qingyang City plans to invest over 14 billion yuan this year to enhance its production capacity. The initiative aims to add 1 million tons of new crude oil production capacity and 300 million cubic meters of new natural gas production capacity, providing further support to national energy development efforts.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Qingyang City fully completed the construction of a 10-million-ton crude oil production base. Cumulative crude oil output reached 55.95 million tons, with 17.04 million tons processed. The city also established the country’s first shale oil development demonstration zone with an annual output of 1 million tons. Meanwhile, the construction of a 10-billion-cubic-meter natural gas production and processing base has accelerated, with cumulative natural gas output reaching 3.53 billion cubic meters.

According to the plan, Qingyang City aims to produce 12.7 million tons of crude oil in 2026, representing a planned year-on-year increase of 2.89%. The natural gas production target is set at 1.5 billion cubic meters, with a planned year-on-year growth of 60.77%. The planned addition of 1 million tons of crude oil capacity is equivalent to building a new medium-sized oilfield, underscoring its significant role in stabilizing and increasing China’s crude oil production.
