DAISHOMICROLINE (00567) saw its shares surge more than 20% during morning trading. At the time of writing, the stock was up 9.68% to HK$0.34, with a turnover of HK$1.24 million. The movement follows an announcement made on the evening of April 24, in which the company proposed changing its English name from "Daisho Microline Holdings Limited" to "Jsmart Technologies Group Limited." Its Chinese name will be registered in Bermuda as "金安具身智能科技集团有限公司," replacing the current Chinese name "大昌微线集团有限公司," which is used only for identification. The announcement stated that the company is actively pursuing strategic expansion into the artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics sectors. The board believes the proposed name change will better reflect the group's current business focus and new strategic direction.
