Hong Kong stocks opened higher, BYD, XPeng, BIDU-SW rose nearly 5%

On July 2, 2026, the Hong Kong stock market opened broadly higher. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.83%, the National Enterprise Index rose 0.73%, the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 1.25%, and the Red Chip Index rose 0.80%.

In terms of individual stocks, BYD COMPANY Company rose 4.90% as its new energy vehicle sales in June reached 403,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 5.46%. However, the cumulative sales for this year were 1.8085 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 15.72%.

XPENG-W rose 4.94%, reflecting a broad positive movement across key Chinese technology and internet stocks.

BIDU-SW rose 4.93%, JD-SW rose 3.78%, and Alibaba-W rose 2.64%, all contributing to the overall positive sentiment in the market.
