Copper Futures on the Comex Edge Higher, Settling at $6.6185 Per Pound

The August-delivery near-month copper futures contract on the New York Commodities Exchange settled at $6.6185 per pound today, rising 10.45 cents, or 1.60%.

This marks the third-highest closing price in history and represents a second consecutive daily gain. Over the past two trading sessions, the contract has accumulated a rise of 18.25 cents, or 2.84%.

Today’s settlement is the third highest of the calendar year 2026, and it is the highest since Tuesday, June 2, 2026. It sits 0.47% below the 52-week high of $6.6495, also set on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

On a broader scale, the current price is 51.66% above the 52-week low of $4.364 recorded on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and is up 51.66% compared to the same period one year ago.

Relative to the 2026 settlement high of $6.6495 (set on June 2, 2026), the price is down 0.47%. Compared to the 2026 settlement low of $5.3425 (set on Friday, March 20, 2026), it has climbed 23.88%. From the all-time high of $6.6495 (also on June 2, 2026), the current level is 0.47% lower.

Year-to-date, copper futures have advanced 98.85 cents, representing a gain of 17.56%. All prices are based on the settlement price of the current near-month contract.
