圣路易斯联邦储备银行行长阿尔贝托·穆萨勒姆表示，货币政策必须对潜在通胀施加约束，而不是容忍当前较高价格压力，以追求预期的生产率提升。
穆萨勒姆在其公开发言的讲稿中称：“我本人对人工智能和生产率持乐观态度，但我近期论证，目前尚无足够证据支持基于未来更高生产率增长的预期来制定货币政策。”
在圣保罗的一次活动中，穆萨勒姆指出，央行对长期增长最宝贵的贡献，是提供稳定的价格环境，使企业能够规划那些驱动经济增长的投资与创新。
此外，穆萨勒姆强调，美联储的双重使命涉及价格和就业，并未提及提升经济长期增长率。因此，现在依赖宽松政策以换取未来生产率收益，实际上是在透支货币政策的公信力。
穆萨勒姆警告道：“公信力一旦丧失，重建成本将极为高昂。”
