Vontier Corporation's stock surged 7.31% during pre-market trading on Thursday, driven by a combination of stronger-than-expected first-quarter financial results and a significant strategic business move.

The industrial technology company reported first-quarter sales of $750.6 million, surpassing the analyst consensus estimate of $737.1 million. Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter came in at $0.80, meeting market expectations. The company also reaffirmed its full-year 2026 adjusted diluted net EPS guidance range of $3.35 to $3.50.

Concurrently, Vontier announced an agreement to sell a majority stake in its telematics and asset management unit, Teletrac Navman, to private equity firm Respida Capital. The transaction values the business at $220 million, with Vontier set to receive $80 million in cash, an interest-bearing seller note, and retain a minority equity stake. The deal is expected to close in late Q2 2026.
