AsiaInfo Technologies Limited released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing accelerated strategic transformation under the “AI First” roadmap and quantifiable sustainability advances across operations.
The Beijing-headquartered IT services group confirmed that “AI First” now anchors three core business lines—Telecom Core Systems, Smart Digital Operation and Smart Connectivity Products—while embedding security via sister company AsiaInfo Security. The strategy generated more than 100 AI innovation projects and over 70 overseas smart-operation contracts during the year.
R&D remained a priority: spending reached RMB 871 million, equivalent to 13.80% of revenue. The company secured 110 new software copyrights and 83 patents in 2025, lifting its cumulative software copyright portfolio to 1,945. Participation in 384 domestic and international standards underpinned technology leadership, and its 5G private-network solutions now rank first by market share in China’s nuclear-power sector.
Operational sustainability metrics all improved year-on-year. Group greenhouse-gas emissions (Scope 1+2) declined 4.04% to 5,278.19 tonnes of CO₂-equivalent, while electricity-sourced emissions totalled 4,784.16 tonnes. Water consumption fell 13.65% to 36,559.33 tonnes, and paper usage decreased 9.24% to 5.74 tonnes. AsiaInfo advanced intelligent retrofits at its Beijing headquarters—projected to cut annual lighting costs by RMB 0.16 million and save an additional RMB 0.02 million through optimised HVAC operations.
Governance enhancements included a three-tier ESG oversight structure with the Board at the apex. Independent non-executive directors now account for 46% of the 11-member Board, and female representation stands at 18%. All directors completed 6.25 hours of ESG training during the year. Integrity controls were strengthened through mandatory ethics commitments for staff and suppliers; no corruption cases were reported.
External recognition reflected sustained progress: Wind assigned an “A” ESG rating, MSCI raised its score to “BBB,” and awards included the IPC China ESG Benchmark Enterprise Award and HKMA’s ESG Report Award.
AsiaInfo reaffirmed its target of achieving full carbon neutrality by 2028 and is pursuing dual-path decarbonisation—reducing its own footprint and enabling clients through digital-intelligence solutions such as virtual power plants, zero-carbon parks and smart energy platforms.
At year-end 2025 the workforce totalled 11,437 employees, with females comprising 23% and staff under age 31 accounting for 32% of headcount. Employee training reached 120,079 hours, while safety metrics recorded zero work-related fatalities for the third consecutive year.
AsiaInfo’s 2025 ESG Report underscores continued integration of AI-driven innovation, disciplined governance and measurable environmental progress as the company positions itself as a “leading provider of intelligent connectivity and digital operations” in China’s unfolding Internet of Agents era.
