SUNAC (01918) saw its share price climb more than 9% in early trading, last up 7.34% at HK$0.585 with turnover reaching HK$110 million. The move comes after the company announced a major strategic transformation.

The company revealed it has set "asset management plus asset operations" as its new strategic direction, splitting its traditional integrated property development model into two independent business segments: asset management and project construction operations. As a key first step in implementing this new strategy, SUNAC announced it would acquire a 100% stake in Jin Guan Management, a light-asset real estate management firm, for RMB 123 million.

According to the announcement, both the asset management and construction management divisions will independently pursue market-oriented business opportunities while supporting each other's growth. The asset management arm will focus on capital aggregation and investment opportunity identification within the real estate sector, while the construction management division will provide light-asset services including construction, operations, and sales for both invested projects and third-party developments.
