Prudential plc trims share count after latest buyback

Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 270,162 ordinary shares on Jul, 24 2026, reducing its outstanding share capital to 2,505,517,684 shares.

On the same day, the insurer repurchased a further 268,586 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange for cancellation, equal to about 0.0107 % of its issued shares. The shares were bought at prices ranging from GBP 10.82 to GBP 10.97, for a total consideration of approximately GBP 2.94 million.

Following this purchase, Prudential has bought back 107,193,378 shares under the shareholder mandate approved on May, 14 2025, representing 4.115574 % of the company’s share base at that time. The firm is restricted from issuing new shares or transferring treasury shares until Aug, 23 2026.
