H World Group Faces Regulatory Meeting Over Consumer Concerns

Deep News
Feb 11

On February 11, the Beijing Consumers Association summoned Hanting Xingkong (Shanghai) Hotel Management Co., Ltd., the operator of H World Group, for a meeting. The action was taken following concerns that the company's membership service agreement contained unfair standard terms that may restrict or exclude key consumer rights, thereby harming their legitimate interests.

The meeting was conducted in accordance with Article 40 of China's Implementation Regulations on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests, which authorizes consumer associations to investigate consumer complaints, verify facts with relevant businesses, and request their presence for statements and evidence submission. The Beijing Consumers Association explicitly pointed out the problematic clauses and demanded that the company conduct a comprehensive self-examination and complete rectifications within a specified period.
