On December 15, actress Wen Zhengrong issued a formal statement alongside a case filing notice, captioning it: "Reported to police—criminal case filed." The statement addressed malicious rumors spread by hired "internet trolls," including false claims such as "Wen Zhengrong staged her own controversy" and "Wen Zhengrong shifted blame to AI after a面膜 (facial mask) incident."
After preliminary review, authorities confirmed sufficient grounds for a criminal investigation, issuing an "Official Criminal Case Filing Notice" to her agency on December 15, 2025. Earlier, Wen had shared a stern declaration from her MCN agency, Wu Ji Ba Fang (Tangshan) Cultural Media Co., Ltd.
Corporate records show Wu Ji Ba Fang was established in November 2024 with a registered capital of 1 million yuan, jointly owned by representatives Tan Kai and Qu Jingyuan. The company holds investments in three enterprises, including Hangzhou Wanliu Gravity Network Technology Co.
Meanwhile, data reveals Wen lost nearly 70,000 followers in one month, dropping to 3.8 million. Her Douyin (TikTok) account's promotional video rates are priced at 250,000 yuan for 1-20 seconds, 320,000 yuan for 21-60 seconds, and 500,000 yuan for clips exceeding 60 seconds.
