China Southern Airlines (1055) Releases January 2026 Operating Data

China Southern Airlines (1055) announced that total passenger capacity measured by available seat kilometers (ASK) decreased by 1.10% year-on-year in January 2026. Domestic routes declined by 5.42%, while regional and international routes rose by 0.12% and 10.45%, respectively. Total passenger traffic measured by revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) declined by 2.86% compared to the same period last year.

According to the announcement, the overall passenger load factor was 83.26%, 1.51 percentage points lower year-on-year. In the cargo segment, capacity measured by available tonne kilometers (ATK) for cargo and mail dipped slightly by 0.03% year-on-year, while revenue tonne kilometers (RTK) for cargo and mail climbed 7.65%. The cargo and mail load factor reached 50.39%, an increase of 3.59 percentage points year-on-year.

The announcement also noted that the airline disposed of one A321 aircraft during January 2026. At the end of the period, the airline operated a total of 971 commercial aircraft, including models from Airbus, Boeing, and COMAC. No new major routes were launched in January 2026.
