特朗普称美欧达成协议几率仅五成，欧盟外交官近来对即将达成贸易协议持乐观态度，但特朗普却表示，美欧就降低进口关税达成协议的可能性“只有五成”。特朗普说：“我认为达成协议的机会是五五开，可能还不到，但还是有五成的可能。”特朗普补充称，美欧谈判代表正“密切”合作，争取达成协议。本月早些时候，特朗普发布信函称，若美欧在8月1日前无法达成协议，欧盟将面临对大多数商品征收30%关税的惩罚性措施，此外还将实施行业特定的附加关税。特朗普还表示，未来几天将单方面发出更多信函，为其他国家设定新一轮关税。
