On November 12, the Shanghai Stock Exchange International Investors Conference was held. Chia Cheng Chien, Member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of Asia at EQT Group, delivered a keynote speech at the event.
Chien highlighted EQT's deep-rooted connection with China, emphasizing the group's long-term investment approach. Since the mid-1990s, EQT has invested over $17 billion cumulatively in China.
For the Chinese market, EQT has formulated three core investment strategies: 1) "In China, For China" – Actively investing in domestic-focused Chinese enterprises, particularly in healthcare and industrial sectors. 2) Introducing high-quality international companies to expand their operations in China. 3) Supporting Chinese businesses in cross-border development, especially leveraging Hong Kong as a gateway to European and global markets.
Chien noted that China's evolving market dynamics present compelling opportunities for investors. He pointed out existing gaps in asset allocation within venture capital and private equity sectors, indicating substantial untapped potential. Many investors remain keenly interested in China's market, and these gaps represent strategic opportunities worth capitalizing on.
