该股曾在二月中东战争爆发前触及六年高点，但自那以来已下跌超过20%。截至周四，联合利华市值约为1220亿美元，而大约两个月前其市值曾超过1600亿美元。
分析师指出，投资者担忧自身将被迫持有一家大型上市美国食品公司的股份，而该公司最终可能背负沉重债务。联合利华则辩称，将大部分食品资产出售给味好美能使公司更专注于利润率更高的健康与个人护理产品。
