Embraer SA announced on Thursday that it will unveil what the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer calls a "milestone" announcement next week in Washington.
Embraer SA, which currently assembles some business jets in Florida, declined to comment further on the planned announcement. However, industry sources indicate the news is expected to focus on adding US manufacturing jobs through its commercial aircraft subsidiary.
The announcement, scheduled for September 10th, will coincide with a major conference of aerospace industry leaders in the US capital. This comes as the world's third-largest aircraft manufacturer actively lobbies for the removal of 10% tariffs imposed on its aircraft by the Trump administration.
In its media preview, Embraer SA described the upcoming announcement as "the first of its kind in the United States."
Currently, both domestic and foreign aerospace companies are promoting investment in the US - a move aimed at alleviating pressure on the highly globalized aerospace industry from former President Donald Trump's "America First" economic policies. However, analysts caution that some of the newly announced investment projects were already underway.
