As the youngest prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province, Meishan serves as a vital component of the national-level Tianfu New Area, the Chengdu Economic Zone, and the Greater Mount Emei International Tourism Zone. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Meishan's industrial sector achieved an average annual growth rate ranking first in Sichuan Province, with total industrial output surpassing the 200 billion yuan threshold. The city now hosts Sichuan Province's largest lithium salt production base, the Southwest's largest wet electronic chemicals production base, and China's largest small-to-medium-sized new display production base, establishing itself as a primary hub for advanced materials and deep-processed agricultural product supply chains in the province.

The image depicts Yongfeng Village in Taihe Town, Dongpo District, Meishan City, located at the southern edge of the Chengdu Plain, which falls within the core area of the "Tianfu Granary". Looking toward the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Meishan plans to actively integrate into major strategies including the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle development and the Chengdu Metropolitan Area construction, focusing on high-quality development as its primary mission to comprehensively elevate the city's development capacity.

To build stronger industrial chains, Meishan is committed to establishing itself as a hub for advanced manufacturing innovation and transformation within the Chengdu-Chongqing region. The city will launch an "AI + Manufacturing" enablement initiative to expand the industrial ecosystem and strengthen supply chains. Key goals include developing Sichuan Province's lithium-sodium materials collaborative development hub and China's crystalline silicon photovoltaic manufacturing base, while striving to create a national-level natural gas chemical industry cluster. The city will also focus on three distinctive tracks: building a national base for specialized and innovative intelligent equipment manufacturing, a western region supporting base for wet electronic materials, and a southwestern cluster for specialty condiment production.

Expanding the project portfolio, Meishan will leverage its advantages within the "dual economic circles" and "same-city integration" frameworks. The city plans to implement industrial collaborative supporting actions, remaining committed to seeking new growth increments, exploring existing potential, and cultivating emerging capacity. Targeting frontier sectors such as space-ground information technology, new energy storage, and bio-manufacturing, Meishan will release over 100 application scenarios annually and precisely attract upstream and downstream supporting projects. By deeply exploring capacity expansion needs among leading chain enterprises and specialized, innovative companies, the city will implement an average of more than 200 new technology upgrade projects each year. Additionally, Meishan will deepen the "Chengdu R&D + Meishan Transformation" model, conducting an average of over 100 pilot testing projects and 20 transformation projects annually. This is illustrated by the Chengdu-Meishan intercity railway in the accompanying image.

To enhance carrying capacity, Meishan will continue implementing park capacity improvement initiatives, upgrading three provincial-level chemical industry parks in Sichuan. The city also plans to deepen cross-regional cooperation in lithium ore and phosphate ore resources, accelerate the development of new power grids featuring integrated optical storage and virtual power plants, and promote direct green electricity connections and on-site natural gas conversion. These efforts span resource coordination, energy security, and industrial supporting infrastructure, comprehensively assisting enterprises in cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.
