Sichuan Province has announced a significant step forward in its "AI+" initiative. On May 6, the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the 'AI+' Primary Innovation Project in Sichuan Province" was officially released, outlining the development goals, key tasks, and work requirements for this flagship project.

As a disruptive technology leading the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, artificial intelligence is increasingly accelerating its integrated development with various industries, making the "AI+" concept widely recognized. The plan establishes a "three-phase" roadmap. By 2027, the goal is to achieve deep integration of AI with key sectors, with an adoption rate of over 70% for new-generation smart terminals and intelligent agents, and to form 2-3 industrial clusters with national competitiveness in specific segments. By 2030, the aim is to establish 1-2 national-level emerging industrial clusters, build 200 advanced smart manufacturing factories, gather more than 2,500 AI companies, and achieve an industry scale exceeding 400 billion yuan, accelerating the province's development into a nationally influential source of AI innovation and a pioneer in application. By 2035, the province plans to fully enter a new stage of intelligent economy and society.

To achieve these goals, the plan deploys 20 key tasks to promote AI application across various fields including scientific research, manufacturing, producer services, agriculture, low-altitude economy, culture and tourism, commerce, and education. Specifically, in scientific research, it will promote the construction of smart dry and wet labs in provincial and national key laboratories and deepen AI integration in areas like new drug研发 and materials science. In manufacturing, activities will be conducted to empower new industrialization, with tailored application roadmaps for different industries. For producer services, intelligent service models will be promoted to build efficient systems. In culture and tourism, AI will be applied in smart management, digital heritage preservation, and immersive experiences.

Furthermore, addressing the broad scope of "AI+", the plan details measures in areas such as deepening application scenarios, strengthening computing power support, ensuring data supply, building talent teams, enhancing policy guarantees, and implementing safety governance. For instance, each industry will launch no fewer than five typical application scenarios annually. To bolster computing power, provincial and municipal "computing power vouchers" will be expanded to reduce costs for enterprises. Policy support will include the integration of industrial chain funds to support major landmark applications, increasing fiscal support for AI, and accelerating breakthroughs in core technologies and demonstration projects to guide more social capital participation.
