Far East Orchard Limited announced on Sep, 30 2025 that it has completed the second stage of its phased acquisition of Homes for Students (HFS), raising its interest in the U.K.-based purpose-built student accommodation operator from 49% to 84%.
The additional 35% stake was acquired for about 43.3 million Singapore dollars, making HFS a subsidiary of the group.
Far East Orchard intends to purchase the remaining shares in HFS by Nov, 30 2030, subject to the terms of the existing sale-and-purchase agreement.
Co-chief executives Martin Corbett and Graham Rogers will continue to lead HFS, which manages more than 55,000 beds across over 55 towns and cities in the U.K. and Ireland.
The deal reinforces Far East Orchard’s strategy to expand its lodging platform and grow recurring income streams within the U.K. student accommodation market, the company said.
