China Shenhua Energy Company Limited (China Shenhua) announced that the No. 4 power generation unit of its controlling subsidiary China Energy Qingyuan Power Generation Co., Ltd. (Qingyuan Power) has successfully passed a 168-hour trial operation and is now in commercial operation. Both 1,000 MW double-reheat ultra-supercritical coal-fired power units of the Qingyuan Phase II Expansion Project are currently operational, having demonstrated stable performance with ultra-low emissions of air pollutants and zero wastewater discharge during testing.
According to the announcement dated 14 February 2026, Qingyuan Power is anticipated to supply around 20.00 billion kWh of clean and efficient electricity per year. This capacity is expected to help address power supply security concerns in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and support the region’s economic development.
