Beijing Daxing International Airport is gearing up for a significant surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday period.
Official projections indicate that the airport will handle approximately 11,040 flights over the holiday stretch, averaging around 1,104 flights per day. This marks an estimated year-on-year increase of about 11 percent from last year's daily average. Concurrently, the airport expects to serve 1.79 million passengers, translating to a daily average of roughly 170,000 travelers, which represents an approximate 10 percent year-on-year growth.
The busiest day is anticipated to be National Day itself, October 1st, when about 1,150 flights are scheduled and an estimated 180,000 passengers are expected to pass through the terminal.
To manage this influx, the airport will proactively assess weather conditions and passenger flow patterns. It will collaborate closely with air traffic control, airlines, and various on-site operators to enhance coordination and ensure flight punctuality. Inside the terminal, travelers can enjoy a series of cultural activities, including special performances featuring traditional Chinese instrumental music and interactive garden-style experiences. Additionally, a range of commercial promotions and engagement benefits will be offered to create an efficient, convenient, and enjoyable travel experience for all passengers.
The airport also reminds all travelers that during the peak holiday period, they should check their carry-on luggage in advance to ensure compliance with security regulations. Passengers are advised to allow ample time for check-in and other pre-flight procedures to avoid any delays to their travel plans.
