To address the surge in travel demand during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, DiDi Global Inc. has launched a comprehensive package of convenient services and driver incentive programs.
According to DiDi's projections, nationwide ride-hailing demand will begin rising significantly from September 26, reaching its holiday peak on September 30. The company anticipates that September 30 will see the first daily surge in ride demand between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, with the evening peak starting earlier at 3:30 PM. The highest demand period is expected between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, when evening rush hour ride requests are projected to increase by 110% compared to pre-holiday levels. Scheduled ride bookings on September 30 are expected to double compared to regular days.
Airport and train station transfers represent the primary scenarios for scheduled rides during the holiday period. Beyond first-tier cities, Xuzhou Station, Nanning Station, and Kunming Station are anticipated to become the most popular booking destinations during the double festival holidays.
For the holiday period, DiDi has introduced a "50% off daily" ride-hailing promotion and deployed ride-hailing service guides at over 100 popular airports and train stations nationwide to help users board vehicles more quickly. The company is also distributing over 400 million yuan in driver subsidies and launching reward programs such as "More Orders, Zero Commission." Additionally, DiDi is hosting driver family dinners and distributing 600,000 mooncake gift boxes to express appreciation for its drivers.
The company reports that ride-hailing demand during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays is expected to increase by 20% compared to the previous period, while out-of-town ride requests are projected to surge by 51%. DiDi's charter service orders are anticipated to grow by 187% year-over-year.
