据市场媒体报道，SpaceX在近期提交给美国联邦通信委员会(FCC)的文件中透露，计划于2027年推出第二代蜂窝式星链系统，旨在实现“大幅增强”的卫星直连手机服务，提供接近地面5G网络的体验。此次技术升级与该公司在去年9月达成的一项关键收购密切相关。SpaceX已与EchoStar签署协议，拟以约170亿美元收购其持有的无线电频谱资源以升级蜂窝星链服务。
