政策制定者没有就未来的举措提供指导，而是继续强调，他们将根据未来的数据每次召开一次会议。欧洲央行在一份声明中表示：“通胀目前处于2%的中期目标附近，管理委员会对通胀前景的评估基本保持不变。”大多数官员认为，利率对于应对特朗普的贸易关税、地缘政治紧张局势以及最近令市场不安的法国政治动荡的影响是合适的。
周四的决定符合经济学家的预期，此前欧洲央行行长拉加德表示，自去年以来八次下调借贷成本后，利率制定者已转向“观望”模式。贝伦贝格银行经济学家菲利克斯•施密特在该决定出台前指出，欧洲央行“没有必要改变其货币立场”。他补充称，欧元区经济“已被证明比预期更具弹性”，通胀也在控制之中。
目前，欧元区20国的经济扩张势头强劲，而略高于2%目标的通胀也得到了控制。最新的季度预测显示，明年消费者价格将上涨1.7%，比之前预测的1.6%更接近目标。但到2027年，它们将增长1.9%，低于之前的预期。预计今年国内生产总值将增长1.2%，2026年将增长1%。
