On the morning of September 12, at the 2025 Inclusion·Bund Conference, Ant Group Co., Ltd. released the world's first trusted connection technology framework for smart glasses - gPass. This technology features three core capabilities: "security, interaction, and connection," aiming to achieve secure, trusted, and instant information exchange between AI glasses and intelligent agents, creating natural and seamless service experiences for users while building a secure AI digital service ecosystem for glasses manufacturers and developers.

During the conference, Associate Professor Yu Chun from Tsinghua University's Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory discussed the current state of the AI glasses industry, pointing out: "Current AI glasses functions are still at the basic interaction stage, such as photography, translation, teleprompter, and simple conversations. Overall capabilities still have a significant gap compared to smartphones. Limited hardware computing power and insufficient storage constrain the operation of complex functions. In terms of software ecosystem, low-to-mid-end products struggle to dynamically load applications, making ecosystem expansion difficult."

He noted that the scarcity of native applications and high development barriers due to unique interaction logic, along with industry fragmentation in chip and system selection, severely limit service deepening and popularization. "The service potential of current AI glasses has not been fully released, urgently requiring the construction of an open and trusted underlying support system."

Facing these core industry challenges, building a unified, secure, and interconnected underlying infrastructure has become the key breakthrough point for breaking the current situation and driving AI glasses from "basic tools" to "personal intelligent agents." Ant Group Co., Ltd.'s launch of gPass is precisely designed to address this urgent need.

Chen Liang, CTO of Ant Group's Security Division, introduced that gPass opens up Ant's financial-grade security capabilities, supporting AI glasses' evolution toward user super assistants with three core capabilities: "security, interaction, and connection."

In terms of security, gPass leverages trusted identity circulation, end-to-end encryption, device authentication, and other technologies to ensure "the device belongs to the user," building security barriers for information transmission and comprehensively protecting user information security and privacy. Currently, gPass has successfully adapted chip-level security solutions for both Android and RTOS dual systems.

In terms of interaction, gPass integrates seamless authentication technologies such as voiceprint, iris, and fingerprint recognition to achieve convenient and secure verification that "the user is authentic," ensuring all operations are performed by the authentic user, enhancing reliability and security of usage.

In terms of connection, gPass can intelligently recognize the time and space where users are located, supporting instant and secure message interaction with various intelligent agents, featuring cross-device synchronization, message optimization, and multimodal reminders, delivering efficient and natural experiences.

According to reports, gPass has been initially applied to glasses brands including Rokid, Xiaomi, Quark, and Thunderbird, enabling "look and pay" functionality. In the future, it will unleash more technological potential in scenarios such as cultural tourism, transportation, and healthcare. For example, in healthcare scenarios, through gPass, users can conveniently access health consultation, AI diagnosis, appointment reminders, medication interpretation, and other services through AI glasses, achieving seamless, accompanying health companion experiences while ensuring privacy protection.
