On February 5, He Xiaopeng, Chairman of XPeng Inc., announced via a Weibo post that XPeng is about to launch its first flagship large six-seater SUV, named the XPeng GX.

Regarding the rationale behind developing another large six-seater SUV, He Xiaopeng explained that the current market presents an "impossible trinity" for three-row SUVs, where comfort, space, and handling cannot be simultaneously optimized, forcing many families to make compromises before every trip.

Some have asked me: Why is XPeng building another large six-seater SUV?

After extensive research with real users, we learned that the third row is often uncomfortable for long periods; when the car is fully occupied with family, there's no room for luggage; and the driving experience is cumbersome and unenjoyable. This is the current market's impossible trinity for three-row SUVs—comfort, space, and handling cannot be achieved together—forcing many families to compromise before each journey.

We do not wish to repeat or compromise, so today, we are introducing an all-new tech flagship.

Its internal development code is G01. The "1" signifies our approach starting from "first principles," using comprehensive AI thinking to completely redesign a full-size family flagship SUV. As it prepares to enter households everywhere, it receives a new name: the XPeng GX.
