美国汽车公司正在考虑在汽车中增加钢材的使用，原因是上个月一场工厂火灾扰乱了用于皮卡和运动型多功能车的铝材供应，钢铁制造商Cleveland-Cliffs的首席执行官表示。

根据行业分析师的说法，总部位于亚特兰大的Novelis公司供应约40%的美国汽车行业铝板。但其位于纽约州奥斯威戈的工厂在九月份发生火灾后，大部分生产线将停产至明年初。

Cleveland-Cliffs首席执行官Lourenco Goncalves在一次电话会议中对分析师表示：“我们完全预期铝材在汽车领域的使用将继续减少。”“多年前转向铝材的车型现在受到的影响最大，受影响的汽车制造商们正在认真考虑重新转向使用钢材。”
