TONGRENTANGCM’s 2025 ESG Report Sets 2030 Emission-Cut Target, Flags Zero-Corruption Record and HK$106.52 Million R&D Spend

Beijing Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Company Limited (TONGRENTANGCM) released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing new climate commitments, strengthened governance, expanded R&D spending and continued community engagement across its global operations.

Tightened governance and ethics • All directors and employees completed anti-corruption training during the year, delivering 100 percent coverage. • No corruption-related litigation was recorded and the Group reported full compliance with ESG-related regulations.

Innovation and product stewardship • R&D investment reached HK$106.52 million, supporting 20 ongoing scientific projects and lifting the cumulative patent portfolio to more than 60. • The Group’s new prescription “Jin Chai Shi Hu San” secured registration from Hong Kong’s Chinese Medicine Council, while an anti-ageing product patent was approved by China’s National Intellectual Property Administration. • All manufactured proprietary Chinese medicines maintain Hong Kong GMP, ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP certifications; zero material product health-and-safety complaints were lodged in 2025.

Human capital highlights • Workforce totalled 769 employees with a male-to-female ratio of 1:2. • Over 7,400 training hours were delivered, achieving 100 percent staff participation; no work-related fatalities occurred during the year.

Climate strategy and resource efficiency • The company introduced a “2030 Climate Target” to cut absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse-gas emissions by 15 percent from the 2024 baseline. • Total Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions fell to 1,621.98 tCO₂e, equating to 1.07 tCO₂e per HK$1 million of revenue. • First-time climate scenario analysis, using NGFS “Net Zero 2050” and “Current Policies” pathways, underpinned the Group’s resilience planning. • Energy consumption totalled 5,000.02 MWh, while water use reached 43,936.49 m³; the company expanded Scope 3 data coverage to three categories.

Community and culture initiatives • Free medical consultations benefitted more than 1,000 people; Tong Ren Tang’s first global Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Experience Centre opened in Macao. • The tenth “Show Love and Care to Stroke Prevention” campaign broadened workplace and campus outreach, and staff participation in Community Chest “Walk for Millions” continued.

Awards and recognition • The Group collected the Gold Award (Sustainable Development Category) at the 2024 Quam IR Awards, the “Best Listed Company” Golden Kunpeng Award, HKQAA’s Gold Medal for Sustainable Finance-related Information Disclosure, and the “01 Gold Medal — Outstanding Traditional Chinese Medicine Brand”.

The Board approved the ESG Report on 20 March 2026, affirming TONGRENTANGCM’s intent to deepen R&D, advance internationalisation of Traditional Chinese Medicine and execute its newly declared decarbonisation roadmap.
