Lixian Special Education School has been honored with the "Gansu Province Advanced Group in Assisting the Disabled" award. On August 28, the Gansu Provincial People's Government Committee for Persons with Disabilities announced the results of the sixth provincial recognition of self-improvement models and advanced groups in disability assistance. Lixian Special Education School received this recognition for its outstanding contributions and remarkable achievements in the field of special education.

The school adheres to the educational philosophy of "for you, a thousand times over," providing scientific, systematic, and compassionate education for children with intellectual, hearing, and visual disabilities both within and outside the county. Following the principle that "not one child should be left behind," the school actively implements Individualized Education Programs (IEP), creating customized teaching plans for each student to truly achieve individualized instruction.

In educational practice, the school not only actively explores inclusive education to promote positive interactions between special education students and regular students, but also places special emphasis on professional development for teachers. Through regular training sessions, the school has built a high-quality teaching staff, with multiple teachers receiving municipal-level and higher honors, and numerous teaching cases and achievements winning awards at provincial, municipal, and county-level competitions.

Leveraging a distinctive model of "education + rehabilitation + vocational skills training," the school offers courses in handicrafts, hairdressing, cooking, and other skills in addition to completing the national curriculum, helping students master practical skills. Currently, several students from the school have achieved supported employment or home-based entrepreneurship through the skills they learned.

In terms of campus culture development, the school focuses on creating a warm atmosphere of respect and inclusion. Through establishing growth portfolios and organizing diverse cultural and sports activities, the school enhances students' confidence and sense of social participation. The school also conducts awareness campaigns annually during "National Day for Assisting Persons with Disabilities," calling for greater attention and support from all sectors of society for disability-related causes.
