On the afternoon of September 30, Kuaishou-W announced organizational restructuring of its existing commercial system to better serve merchants focused on long-term operations and capture future growth opportunities. Based on three core commercial scenarios - e-commerce, life services, and commercialization - Kuaishou is restructuring related businesses across its original commercialization, local, and e-commerce teams.

Kuaishou stated that this adjustment aims to clarify business objectives, align business strategies, focus resource investment, and enhance organizational coordination agility, thereby improving both organizational efficiency and commercial monetization efficiency of the company's business system.

In this restructuring, the Local Life Business Division has been officially renamed to the Life Services Business Division. Local life services will be integrated with lead generation advertising business, with relevant industry teams, product teams, and related middle-platform teams from the original Commercialization Business Division's lead generation advertising operations being transferred to the Life Services Business Division. Liu Xiao will serve as head of the Life Services Business Division, reporting to Kuaishou Senior Vice President Wang Jianwei.

According to public information, Liu Xiao joined Kuaishou in 2020. During his five and a half years at Kuaishou, he has successively served as head of multiple business units including the Content Operations Center, Real Estate and Recruitment Business Center, Commercialization External Loop and Basic Products Department, Kuaishou Content Consumption and Lead Generation Advertising Products Department, and Kuaishou Alliance Products Department.

Related industry teams for internal loop products, operations, and sales from the original Commercialization Business Division have been transferred to the E-commerce Business Division. By integrating e-commerce business with internal loop advertising business, this creates closed-loop capabilities for "traffic-transaction-advertising conversion-merchant services," which can better improve traffic allocation efficiency, balance user experience, merchant growth, and commercial monetization, while providing merchants with a more integrated service experience.

Following this adjustment, the Commercialization Business Division will focus on providing advertising middle-platform capability support for the platform while concentrating on developing businesses including content consumption, comprehensive platform, brand marketing, Juxing, and Kuaishou Alliance.

The announcement also revealed that Xiao Gu will no longer serve as head of the Local Life Business Division and will transition to a company business advisor role. The company expressed sincere gratitude for Xiao Gu's contributions.

Kuaishou CEO Cheng Yixiao announced Xiao Gu's departure through a company-wide signed email to employees. In the company-wide letter, he stated that Xiao Gu built the e-commerce team from scratch, firmly promoted "trust-based e-commerce," and achieved significant growth in Kuaishou's e-commerce GMV and user scale. In 2022, Xiao Gu took on the challenging role of head of the Local Life Business Division, once again building business systems and commercial models from zero, opening new possibilities for Kuaishou's "retail entry" amid fierce market competition. "Since joining the company in 2019, Xiao Gu has consistently maintained entrepreneurial passion and resilience, making important contributions to the construction and development of Kuaishou's commercial system."
