Anhui Expressway Releases 2025 ESG Report: Emissions Down, Safety Response Faster and R&D Spend at RMB 81.24 Million

Anhui Expressway published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing governance enhancements, environmental progress, workforce development and community engagement.

Governance and Compliance – The board comprises nine directors, of which 33.33 % are independent. – In 2025 the company convened six shareholder meetings and 14 board meetings; board attendance reached 100 %. – No corruption-related lawsuits occurred during the period; supplier integrity agreements and stricter bidding reviews underpin a reinforced compliance framework.

Environmental Performance – Total greenhouse-gas emissions (Scopes 1+2) fell to 13,895.26 tCO₂e; Scope 1 accounted for 1,153.77 tCO₂e and Scope 2 for 12,741.49 tCO₂e. – Electricity use at headquarters declined by 66,200 kWh year-on-year; water use fell by 6,100 tons. – Environmental investments reached RMB 29.00 million, including RMB 16.34 million for wastewater upgrades at 17 toll-station sites. – The company installed 11,000 linear metres of noise barriers and completed photovoltaic systems generating 18,754 kWh for tunnel operations.

Safety and Service Quality – Average vehicle rescue time shortened by 33.1 % to 26.22 minutes; 99,200 rescues were conducted, of which 33,700 were free. – Work-safety spending totalled RMB 73.99 million; no work-related fatalities were recorded and 3,438 safety hazards were rectified. – Intelligent traffic management and 37 smart toll stations lifted ETC lane throughput by 86 % and cut cash transactions by about 90 %.

Human Capital – Total staff stood at 2,085, with women representing 46.8 % of the workforce. – Employee training averaged 20.86 hours per person; health-check coverage reached 100 %. – The company invested RMB 1.13 million in training and RMB 0.24 million in hardship assistance, while upgrading 1,841 dormitories and 53 canteens.

Innovation – R&D expenditure amounted to RMB 81.24 million covering 35 projects; 16 patent applications were filed and five patents granted. – A digital “Anhui Expressway Intelligent Brain” platform supports integrated monitoring, predictive maintenance and cross-provincial data sharing.

Community and Rural Revitalisation – Volunteer team activity totalled 4,752 sign-ins and 433,000 service hours. – Rural revitalisation investment reached RMB 4.48 million, with further procurement of agricultural products worth RMB 1.09 million from assisted villages.

The company notes that its 2025 ESG achievements underpin its strategy to deliver safer, greener and more intelligent transportation services across Anhui Province’s 745-kilometre operated network.
