The 2025 Global Leaders Conference on Sustainability was held from October 16 to 18 at the Shanghai Expo Park in Huangpu District. The inaugural Green Industry and Sustainable Consumption Expo took place concurrently.
Marco Lambertini, former Director General of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and convener of the Biodiversity Platform, visited the Sony booth. Sony, a global company renowned for its technology, imaging, and entertainment, showcased a project at the Green Expo that extends beyond electronic products: the "Synecoculture" initiative. This concept promotes the intermixing of multiple plant species on a single plot of land, fostering natural cooperation between plants to achieve ecological cultivation without the use of fertilizers, pesticides, or traditional farming methods. By leveraging plant diversity and natural cycles, this approach aims to restore soil vitality and protect biodiversity. The tea grown within this synecological ecosystem thrives naturally, relying neither on chemical fertilizers nor pesticides, demonstrating the potential for harmonious coexistence between technology and nature.
The 2025 Global Leaders Conference on Sustainability is jointly organized by the World Green Design Organization (WGDO) and Sina Group, with the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRS Foundation) Beijing Office as a co-organizer. The conference is hosted by Sina Finance and the Beijing Representative Office of the World Green Design Organization, with support from the Huangpu District People's Government of Shanghai.
