CTIHK (06055) announced its interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2025, reporting revenue of HK$10.316 billion, representing an 18.52% year-on-year increase. Profit attributable to shareholders reached HK$706 million, up 9.79% compared to the same period last year. Basic earnings per share stood at HK$1.02, and the company proposed an interim dividend of HK$0.19 per share.

For the six months ended June 30, 2025, the Group's tobacco leaf import volume totaled 97,881 tons, an increase of 2,360 tons or 2.5% year-on-year. Import business revenue reached HK$8.399 billion, up HK$1.597 billion or 23.5% compared to the previous year, while gross profit decreased by HK$57.6 million or 7.7% to HK$687 million. The revenue increase was primarily driven by higher overall selling prices for tobacco leaf products during the period. The decline in gross profit was mainly due to supply and demand dynamics, where the cost increase of tobacco leaves purchased from CBT exceeded the selling price increase, resulting in a lower gross margin compared to the same period last year.

During the six months ended June 30, 2025, the Group's tobacco leaf export volume reached 38,476 tons, representing an increase of 4,347 tons or 12.7% year-on-year. Export business revenue grew by HK$238 million or 25.9% to HK$1.156 billion, while gross profit surged by HK$35 million or 124.1% to HK$63.1 million. The significant performance improvement was primarily attributed to: (1) strengthening supply-demand coordination and actively expanding new markets and customers, leading to year-on-year growth in tobacco leaf export volume; and (2) accurately grasping market supply-demand conditions and continuously optimizing pricing strategies, effectively improving the overall selling prices and gross margin of tobacco leaf products during the period, resulting in substantial year-on-year growth in both revenue and gross profit for the export business.
