DATANG POWER has released an operational update for the first half of 2026.

The company and its subsidiaries collectively supplied approximately 129.4693 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to the grid in the period ending June 30, 2026.

This figure represents a year-on-year increase of roughly 4.42%.

Key Drivers of Growth

The growth in total electricity generation was attributed to several factors during the first half of 2026.

These included an overall rise in societal electricity consumption, increased installed capacity from gas-fired and new energy sources, and favorable hydrological conditions in regions like Chongqing and Yunnan compared to the same period last year.

Consequently, on-grid electricity from the company's gas-fired, hydroelectric, and new energy facilities showed significant year-on-year growth, leading to an overall generation volume that surpassed the previous year's level.

Pricing and Market Trends

Despite the volume increase, the company's average on-grid electricity price for the period stood at approximately RMB 430.92 per megawatt-hour, inclusive of tax.

This marked a decrease of about 3.05% compared to the prior year.

Furthermore, a substantial portion of the electricity generated was sold through market-based trading mechanisms.

The volume of electricity traded in the market during the first half of 2026 reached around 115.659 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for approximately 89.33% of the total on-grid electricity.
