Ministry of Civil Affairs to Advance Legislation for Elderly Care Services During 15th Five-Year Plan

At a State Council Information Office press conference themed "Making a Strong Start in the 15th Five-Year Plan" on September 23, Minister of Civil Affairs Li Changguan outlined key legislative priorities for the upcoming period.

During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the ministry will push forward with amendments to the Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elderly, ensuring the safeguard system evolves in step with changing times to genuinely enhance the well-being of senior citizens. Additionally, efforts will be made to formulate a dedicated elderly care services law, aiming to establish a comprehensive, tiered, and universally accessible service network that spans urban and rural areas and supports sustained development.
