Seven companies in Xiongan New Area have been accredited as Authorized Economic Operators (AEO), granting them priority customs clearance and preferential policies.
Sinochem Petroleum Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sinochem Group, recently passed its AEO recertification, becoming the latest company in Xiongan to achieve this status. This brings the total number of AEO-certified enterprises in the region to seven.
The AEO certification, recognized by customs authorities worldwide, signifies compliance with the World Customs Organization’s security standards and reflects a company’s strong creditworthiness and management capabilities. Certified firms enjoy streamlined customs procedures, reduced inspection frequency, and expedited clearance in countries and regions that have mutual recognition agreements with China Customs.
"Obtaining AEO certification is akin to becoming a 'VIP' in customs terms, providing businesses with smoother trade operations and favorable policies that accelerate growth," explained an official from Xiongan Customs.
Securing AEO certification is a rigorous process, requiring companies to meet stringent criteria in internal controls, financial stability, and supply chain security. To support Sinochem Petroleum, Xiongan Customs assigned experts to guide the company in aligning with AEO standards and enhancing its compliance management, ultimately facilitating its successful recertification.
To further assist relocated enterprises in establishing operations in Xiongan, the customs authority has identified 14 state-owned enterprises with international business as key service targets. Through consultations and dedicated communication channels, it promotes trade facilitation measures and offers both online and offline support. Additionally, Xiongan Customs has addressed 35 operational challenges, including shared tax guarantees and dual-region compliance for businesses operating in both Beijing and Xiongan.
