Japan's Economy Minister Plans US Visit to Discuss Investment Fund with Commerce Secretary

Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ryo Shirasawa, stated on Tuesday that he plans to visit the United States from February 11 to 14, contingent on conditions being suitable, to meet with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.
The two officials will discuss the composition of the first project under a $550 billion investment fund. A joint statement will be issued if an agreement is reached.
Minister Shirasawa declined to comment on specific details of the ongoing negotiations.
