On February 11, at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office regarding the 2026 "Happy Spring Shopping" special event and ensuring market supply during the Spring Festival, a spokesperson for the National Financial Regulatory Administration provided key updates. Guo Wuping, Director of the Policy Research Department, stated that financial institutions will ensure an appropriate number of branches remain open during the holiday period to meet the public's financial service needs. Efforts will be strengthened to guarantee payment services, with a focus on enhancing payment convenience in consumption scenarios and addressing the payment service requirements of groups such as the elderly and foreign visitors. Additionally, risk protection will be reinforced, with insurance companies developing new insurance products tailored to various consumption scenarios—including shopping, dining, travel, and sports—while optimizing underwriting and claims services.
Guo Wuping further indicated that the National Financial Regulatory Administration will continue to enhance financial policy support. This will involve guiding financial institutions to efficiently serve the strategy of expanding domestic demand, improving financial services in key consumption areas, and consistently elevating the quality and effectiveness of consumer financial services.
