On November 17, JD.com founder and Chairman Richard Liu made an appearance at the third "JD Wine Tasting Event" held at the Rosewood Sanya hotel. Prior to the event, Liu joined a live stream on JD Travel, where he cooked two signature dishes from Suqian—"Spicy Fish Wraps" and "Stir-Fried Eggs with Fermented Beans"—while promoting JD Fresh’s culinary and coffee offerings.

During the live session, Liu shared his personal connection to the dishes, stating, "I have a natural affinity for fishermen and boats. As a child, most of my free protein came from the water—I often caught eels at night and small fish during the day." While preparing the "Stir-Fried Eggs with Fermented Beans," he reflected on his upbringing, saying, "Salt used to be relatively scarce and had to be purchased. In winter, fermented beans made from soybeans were our main protein source."

The event highlighted JD.com’s continued engagement in lifestyle and culinary experiences, reinforcing its brand presence beyond e-commerce.
