Regulatory Action: Beijing Launches Investigations Into Four Major Online Travel Booking Platforms

Beijing's market regulatory authority announced today (19th) that it has formally initiated investigations into four companies operating in the online hotel and travel booking sector. This action follows a national-level directive and preliminary verification procedures conducted by the authorities.

The cases have been opened under the purview of China's Anti-Unfair Competition Law and the E-commerce Law, among other relevant regulations. The four entities now under investigation are Hangzhou Taomei Aviation Services Co., Ltd., Tongcheng Network Technology Co., Ltd., Tujia Online Information Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., and Beijing San Kuai Information Technology Co., Ltd.. These companies are being probed for alleged violations related to their business practices, according to the official statement from the Beijing Municipal Market Regulation Administration.
