On March 18, Alibaba officially commenced its internship recruitment program for the class of 2027. The initiative was launched simultaneously across 16 business groups and subsidiaries, including Alibaba Holding Group, Alibaba Cloud, Taotian Group, Taobao Deals, Alibaba International, Tongyi Laboratory, Wukong Business Unit (formerly DingTalk), Qianwen Business Unit, T-Head, and Amap.

In recent years, Alibaba has significantly increased its investment in AI research and development while actively recruiting top talent. This year's campus recruitment introduces seven new categories of AI-related positions, with such roles accounting for over 80% of the total openings.

The program targets recent graduates worldwide who will complete their studies between November 1, 2026, and October 30, 2027. Positions are available in multiple domestic and international locations, including Hangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Frankfurt, and Sunnyvale. According to Alibaba's recruitment officials, all candidate resumes will be entered into the company's talent database. Even if not selected in the first round, applicants may still be considered for other business opportunities in the future.

AI-related positions constitute more than 80% of this year's campus recruitment. The seven new AI role categories include AI Application R&D Engineer, AI Application Algorithm Engineer, AI Agent Optimization Engineer, Agent Infrastructure Engineer, AI Data Engineer, AI Infrastructure Engineer, and AI Site Reliability Engineer.

Concurrently, Alibaba launched its "Alibaba Star" program for 2027 graduates, focusing on cutting-edge research in five key areas: fundamental models, AI infrastructure, large model applications, industrial AI, and computing architecture. This initiative provides a global platform and diverse business scenarios across the group for top young research talents, supported by premium growth resources and long-term development mechanisms. Since its inception in 2011, the Alibaba Star program has attracted over 200 exceptional young technical talents, resulting in the publication of more than 3,000 papers and patents, with breakthroughs in fundamental models, AI infrastructure, and search-recommendation-advertising technologies.

According to Alibaba's campus recruitment website, spring recruitment information sessions will begin in late March at several universities, including Zhejiang University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
