Japan's Finance Ministry Data Confirms No Yen Intervention in January

Data released by Japan's Ministry of Finance on Friday confirmed that the government did not enter the foreign exchange market during the latest monthly period, which covered most of January.

The Ministry of Finance stated that no funds were used for foreign exchange market intervention between December 29 and January 28.

Note: Changes in the Bank of Japan's accounts did not provide clear evidence of whether the country intervened in the currency market last Friday.
