A recent investigation has revealed that a job coaching service provider has been falsely claiming to be a senior human resources executive at ByteDance, misleading job seekers who paid for professional guidance services.
According to reports from job seekers, they purchased a "job coaching service" from an individual who claimed to be the "HR Director at ByteDance," promising to help them secure positions at the company through professional guidance. However, after utilizing the services, job seekers discovered that the "coach's" actual identity significantly differed from their promotional claims, providing no substantial assistance in their actual job search efforts.
Internal sources at ByteDance have confirmed that this individual was indeed impersonating an HR executive. The person in question was employed at the company from June 2021 to November 2021, but their position was unrelated to human resources functions.
When contacted by investigators posing as job seekers, the coach immediately provided a detailed service pricing structure: interview coaching at 399 yuan per hour, resume revision at 599 yuan per document, and a comprehensive 15-session coaching package for 6,000 yuan that included guaranteed internal referrals, with prices escalating at each level.
When investigators attempted to verify the coach's identity through business cards, employee badges, or other official documentation, the individual declined, citing "recent strict security reviews at ByteDance" as the reason for refusing to provide verification materials.
This case highlights the growing concern over fraudulent job coaching services that exploit job seekers' desires to work at prestigious technology companies, emphasizing the importance of verifying credentials before engaging such services.
