5月14日，据英国金融时报报道，中小鹏汽车(XPEV.N)正与大众汽车及其他汽车制造商就收购欧洲一家工厂进行磋商。此前数日，大众集团首席执行官奥博穆(Oliver Blume)表示，公司可能将在中国研发的车款引入欧洲市场，甚至与中国合作伙伴在欧洲共享产能。小鹏汽车东北欧地区负责人程晓光表示，小鹏汽车正与大众汽车洽谈，以探讨“我们是否有可能在欧洲找到一个地点”。大众汽车持有小鹏汽车的股份，并在中国拥有三家合资伙伴——上汽集团 、一汽集团和江淮汽车。但这些合作伙伴目前在欧洲均不具备生产能力。报道称，小鹏汽车也将考虑在欧洲新建工厂。“我们认为，并非所有工厂都能满足我们最新或未来产品的需求，”程晓光表示，并补充说大众汽车的工厂“有些陈旧”。
