英国政府周五在一份声明中表示：“随着银行、保险公司和金融市场基础设施越来越依赖云服务，一家主要供应商的服务中断可能会同时影响多家企业，进而可能影响到客户所依赖的服务。”
英国政府已将微软爱尔兰运营有限公司、谷歌云欧洲、中东和非洲有限公司、亚马逊云服务欧洲、中东和非洲有限责任公司以及甲骨文英国有限公司指定为关键第三方，自7月13日起生效。这些公司将由英国央行、审慎监管局和金融行为监管局共同监管。它们将被要求进行韧性测试、定期开展自我评估并报告重大事件。
英国的做法与欧盟形成对比，欧盟于11月在一个类似框架下指定了19家技术和服务公司。
谷歌云的一位发言人表示：“通过有效实施和有意义的全行业参与，这一新的关键第三方框架能够增强英国金融生态系统的长期韧性，并增进各方之间的理解、透明度和信任。”
