Thakral Corporation divests Osaka office building for JPY5.3 billion

Thakral Corporation Ltd said on Sep, 30 2025 that it has completed the sale of the Yotsubashi Nakano Building in Osaka for JPY5.3 billion, roughly 13.7 percent above book value.

The divestment generated an attributable gain of about 2 million Singapore dollars and released roughly 6.4 million Singapore dollars in cash flow to the group.

Thakral holds an effective 56.96 percent stake in the asset through Thakral Japan Properties Pte Ltd. Since its purchase in the fourth quarter of 2014 at JPY2.17 billion, the Japanese property portfolio held by the vehicle has delivered an equity internal rate of return of around 18 percent per year.

Following the transaction, the company retains ownership of five other office properties and one hotel in Osaka. Management said the proceeds will be used to strengthen working capital and redeployed into new investments.
