Nikkei Index Expected to Rise Following Wall Street Tech Rebound

Overnight gains in Wall Street tech stocks are expected to lift Japanese equities. Singapore Exchange Nikkei futures opened at 49,535, up 535 points from Monday and 755 points from Friday. Japan's domestic markets were closed on Monday due to a national holiday.

The USD/JPY exchange rate currently stands at 156.93, compared to 157.10 at the close of Tokyo trading last Friday. Investors are closely monitoring new developments in Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's economic stimulus policies.

Last Friday, the Nikkei 225 fell 2.4% to close at 48,625.88.
