ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. experienced a significant pre-market surge of 5.21% on Wednesday. The semiconductor assembly and testing leader's stock moved sharply higher as several positive developments converged to boost investor sentiment.

The rally is primarily attributed to Advanced Micro Devices Inc.'s announcement of an investment exceeding $10 billion in Taiwan's semiconductor and artificial intelligence ecosystem. As a core outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) partner, ASE Technology is positioned to directly benefit from this massive capital injection through expected capacity expansion and increased orders. The collaboration includes co-developing next-generation wafer-based 2.5D bridge interconnect technology to support AMD's upcoming platforms.

Additionally, ASE's subsidiary launched an automated 310mm panel-level packaging production line, which is expected to begin production in the first half of 2027. The larger panel format supports higher throughput and reduced cycle time, enhancing the company's advanced packaging capabilities. Furthermore, another ASE subsidiary, USI, showcased breakthrough silicon carbide chip-embedded packaging technology, demonstrating continued innovation in power semiconductor solutions for electric mobility and AI applications, which further strengthened market confidence in the company's growth trajectory.
